Axel is 2 years old..... Hi everyone. I'm Axel and I am a special Dane waiting for just the right forever family. I have Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency. My pancreas (whatever that is) isn't producing the enzymes needed to digest my food. My foster dad took me to a really nice vet lady and shegave him some supplements for me. It is a powder that has to be mixed with every meal I eat for the rest of my life. I have been on it for a few weeks and I have already gained 12 pounds! I am really enjoying hanging out with my foster family. There are two other Danes here that I like to play with. My foster mom thinks I am funny because I pounce like a cat and bounce around like a bunny when I play. There is a Saint Bernard here too that I try to play with, but I think the hot weather makes him crabby or something, because he doesn't like to do much. Even though I like to play, my all time favorite thing is to CUDDLE. I will cuddle with foster mom, dad, the human kids and pretty much anyone else that comes over to visit. If one of the other Danes is getting some attention, I make sure I get myself into the action and wiggle in. Don't tell anyone, but I am pretty sure foster mom is totally in love with me. I know she wants to keep me, but can't since she already has three dogs. She says that she and foster dad are going to be very picky about who gets to adopt me, because I need a family that is going to take very good care of me and keep me on my medicine. My medicine is about $100 a month and I need special food to get the most out of it. If you are interested in me, don't let that stop you. I can't wait to find my new fur-ever family.
