Sigh.
I have been looking for a while.
My situation is that due to certain scary circumstances, we are in need of a good watchdog(at least medium sized).
I have posted for a German Shepherd before but right now I would just be happy to find a dog that is great with family but aloof with strangers. Its just the personality I like in a dog, not everyones buddy until they know its okay.
I CAN provide a good home. I CAN provide decent food. I have a wonderful vet that is always willing to work with me. Either myself or daughter is home 98 percent of the time. We own a big house on the edge of a small town and the back yard is fenced but the dog would be an inside dog. He/she would need to get along with smaller dogs as we have three doxies. We take our dogs camping,hiking,road tripping and out to the family farm.
If not spayed or neutered, I am willing to have that done right away so you know I wouldnt be trying to raise puppies from him/her.
While I understand the necessity of a re-homing fee and would be willing to pay a smaller one, I would prefer to use that money to provide veterinary care and other for the dog instead. So many people want a lot of money and dont look at what kind of home the dog is going into.
